Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Giverny
Giverny is a bright, clean and cool blue in the Annie Sloan palette. It is near the greener range of blues, without any red in it.
Named after the village in Northern France where Claude Monet lived, this brilliant blue was especially popular in early 20th Century interiors and is perfect for a mid-century to modern contemporary palette.
Chalk Paint™ is the brand name for Annie’s unique water-based decorative paint. Developed by Annie Sloan specifically for furniture, it can be applied to most surfaces and very rarely requires any priming or sanding before painting. You can use it on walls, floors, wood, concrete, metal, matt plastic, earthenware, brick, stone and more – inside or outside. You can even use it to paint upholstery and dye fabric. It can be thinned with water and used as a wash. It can also be used as an impasto (thickly) — just leave the lid off overnight to thicken. Add Chalk Paint™ Wax for a subtle sheen, protection and durability. For an aged look, add Dark or Black Chalk Paint™ Wax. To lighten colours or for a limed look, try White Chalk Paint Wax.
Chalk Paint™ produces extensive coverage approx 13.9 sq metres per litre (equivalent to a small dresser) and one coat is usually enough.
It is a non-toxic and virtually odour-free paint that has minimal volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at 0.13% VOC (EU limit value for this product (cat. a): 30g/l (2010))
